Unless you've been living under a rock since January, it's no secret that former Kansas State football star Dylan Edwards won't be with the Wildcats this season. He'll actually be across the way in Lawrence, gearing up for the in-state rival Kansas Jayhawks.
Since the start of Spring camp, Edwards has made his first media appearance. Needless to say, he might not miss Manhattan like most other players.
Dylan Edwards reflects on challenging stint with Kansas State football program
Edwards didn't explicitly say that his time at K-State was frustrating, or full of mishaps. He reflected on the current state of his role with the Jayhawks, talking about how he's been encouraged to grow.

"I think coming here, Coach K hasn't put me in a box as far as 'you have to do this only,'" Edwards said. "It hasn't been like that. They haven't put me in a box, not one time."
Edwards is referring to Kansas running backs coach Andy Kotelnicki, and the treatment he's received since committing in January. According to him, it's been a breath of fresh air.
Rumors of his decision first started circulating in when Edwards was spotted inside Allen Fieldhouse on Jan. 16 ahead of tipoff against Baylor. According to reports, he was there on an official visit. Three days later, he announced his commitment to play under head coach Lance Leipold.
Dylan Edwards history with K-State football over last two seasons
Edwards only made four starts for the Wildcats last season. His best performance came against the UCF Knights on Sep. 27, logging 20 carries for 166 yards. He last appeared against Baylor in the Wildcats' 35-34 loss in Waco before announcing plans to enter the transfer portal in November.
At the time of publication, Edwards remains the only transfer on the Jayhawks' roster to start for the Wildcats in any capacity last season. He's got the chance to become the first player in the transfer portal era to start for both the Wildcats, and Jayhawks if he appears in this year's Sunflower Showdown.
