The Kansas State men’s basketball team has added another piece to next season’s puzzle, as international guard Andrej Kostic has committed to play for the Wildcats.

Kostic, 18, is currently playing professional basketball in Serbia for KK Dynamic.

In 39 games, he has averaged 16 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game. A quality shooter from deep, the 6-foot-5 wing has shown a consistent stroke, shooting 36% from behind the arc and 77% from the free-throw line.

Kostic has experience in high-pressure games, having played for the Serbian U18 National Team. He helped Serbia win a gold medal at the 2023 European U18 Championship and a silver medal in the 2024 edition, where he scored 23 points in the final.

The Wildcats remain a work in progress under head coach Jerome Tang, who has seen the majority of the roster turn over following the end of the season.

The Cats failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year, and Tang is now firmly on the hot seat.

Kansas State currently returns only three players from last season: point guard David Castillo and forwards Mobi Ikegwuruka and Taj Manning.

However, the Wildcats have recently secured commitments from Akron guard Nate Johnson, the MAC Player of the Year; Abdi Bashir, a 6-foot-7 sophomore guard from Omaha, Nebraska; and Khamari McGriff, a transfer forward from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Kansas State finished the season 16–17 overall and 9–11 in Big 12 play, tying for ninth place in the conference.
