Kansas State guard Brendan Hausen has committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes via the transfer portal, according to media reports.

Hausen, a 6-foot-4 junior from Amarillo, Texas, played two seasons at Villanova before transferring to Kansas State.

Last season with the Wildcats, Hausen started all 33 games, averaging 10.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while logging a career-high 27.6 minutes per contest. He shot 38.8 percent from three on seven attempts per game.

He was Kansas State's third-leading scorer and most reliable perimeter shooter. However, he often struggled to contribute when his shot wasn’t falling, highlighting a need for more versatility in his offensive game.

New Iowa head coach Ben McCollum previously led Drake, a team K-State faced at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on December 17. Drake won that game 73–70 in overtime, with Hausen shooting just 1-for-5 from the field.

Hausen is one of five Wildcats currently in the transfer portal, joining point guard Dug McDaniel, forward Macaleab Rich, and the recent Monday departures of centers Ugonna Onyenso and Baye Fall. This leaves head coach Jerome Tang with four roster spots to fill as he looks to rebuild the team.

Kansas State did recently secure a commitment from Abdi Bashir, a 6-foot-7 sophomore guard from Omaha, Nebraska.

The Wildcats finished the season 16–17 overall and 9–11 in Big 12 play, tying for ninth in the conference. They missed the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
