Kansas State has emerged as a serious contender in one of the most closely watched recruitments in the 2026 class.
S’Vioarean Martin, a four-star cornerback from Palestine High School (Texas), announced on Sunday that he’s down to three schools: Kansas State, Texas Tech, and the University of Houston.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back is set to announce his commitment on June 19.
Ranked No. 27 nationally among cornerbacks and No. 44 overall in the state of Texas by 247Sports, Martin has drawn significant Power Five interest thanks to his versatility, size, and physical play.
As a junior, he registered 28 tackles, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble on defense. On offense, he added 18 receptions for 229 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his athleticism on both sides of the ball.
Martin visited Kansas State’s campus in April and will return to Manhattan for an official visit the weekend of May 30.
The Wildcats have made a strong push down the stretch, joining a competitive race that also includes in-state programs with deep Texas ties.
He also holds offers from several other major programs, including Oklahoma State, Baylor, SMU, Arizona, and Michigan State.
Kansas State is building recruiting momentum under head coach Chris Klieman, with a defense that continues to develop into one of the Big 12’s most aggressive units. The Wildcats head into the 2025 season with national expectations, ranked No. 12 in USA Today’s preseason poll and No. 16 in Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt’s post-spring Top 25.
Defensively, K-State returns key veterans including linebacker Austin Romaine and safety V.J. Payne—both expected to anchor a group blending proven experience with incoming talent. Adding Martin to that future mix could elevate the Wildcats’ secondary in seasons to come.
With his commitment looming and all eyes on June 19, the next few weeks could prove pivotal—not just for Martin, but for a Kansas State program trending upward on the national stage.
