The Kansas State women’s basketball team has added another transfer to next season’s roster.

Izela Arenas, daughter of former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, will join the Wildcats after transferring from Louisville.

Arenas, a 5-foot-9 freshman guard from Porter Ranch, California, appeared in 29 games for the Cardinals, averaging 4.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 12 minutes per game.

She showed a strong shooting touch from long range, hitting 38% from 3-point distance on just under two attempts per game.

Her best performance came Feb. 27 against Clemson, when she scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds in 22 minutes. She shot 5 of 6 from the field and 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

Arenas joins a K-State roster undergoing significant changes. The Wildcats recently added freshman Brandie Harrod, a former Auburn commit, and Australian guard Tess Heal via the transfer portal.

The team also signed Aniya Foy, a four-star guard; Gina Garcia Safont, a point guard from Spain; and Jordan Speiser, a highly touted five-star prospect. All five newcomers are expected to compete for playing time and add depth to an already talented squad.

K-State finished the 2023–24 season with a 28–8 record, including a 13–5 mark in Big 12 play, tying for fourth place despite entering the season as the league’s preseason favorite.

The Wildcats went 17–1 at home and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to USC, 67–61. K-State looks to continue its upward trajectory in the seasons to come.
