Kansas State remains in the mix for one of the top defensive backs in the 2026 recruiting class.
Bradley Brown, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety out of Plano High School (Texas), announced his final five on Thursday, naming Kansas State, TCU, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Michigan State.
Brown made the announcement on social media, writing: “Thank you to all the coaches who took time to build a relationship with me and also gave me an opportunity to get one step closer to my goal.”
A three-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite, Brown holds a .8736 rating, ranking as the No. 88 safety nationally and the No. 140 overall player in Texas for 2026. He also holds offers from Cal, Pitt, Houston, and Oregon State, among others.
Brown has a busy visit schedule ahead this summer. He is set to be at TCU on May 30, followed by Missouri on June 6, Vanderbilt from June 13–15, and Michigan State on June 20. A visit to Kansas State is expected, but has not yet been finalized.
As a junior in 2024, Brown recorded 69 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one sack, and three pass breakups. He also flashed elite speed on the track, running a 10.87-second 100 meters and a 22.41-second 200 meters.
Kansas State enters the 2025 season with high expectations, ranked No. 12 in USA Today’s preseason poll and No. 16 in Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt’s post-spring Top 25.
Defensively, the Wildcats return key contributors including linebacker Austin Romaine and safety V.J. Payne, both expected to anchor a veteran unit with upside.
In today’s recruiting landscape — shaped by NIL and the transfer portal — early relationships often matter long-term. Even if Brown does ultimately commit elsewhere, Kansas State could be in position to circle back later in his career.
