Cristian Mbamarah, a two-way standout from Cherokee Trail High School (Aurora, CO), has picked up his first Power 5 offer—courtesy of Kansas State.
The Class of 2027 athlete announced the news on his social media, noting a conversation with Wildcats safeties coach and defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman.
Mbamarah, listed at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, plays both wide receiver and defensive back in high school and is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential.
His combination of size, speed, and ball skills make him a compelling prospect and colleges are just beginning to take notice.
As a sophomore, Mbamarah posted 28 tackles, two interceptions, and three pass breakups, per the website MaxPreps. His unverified times include a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and a 22.0 in the 200 meters—athleticism that clearly caught K-State’s eye.
The early offer should be the first of many. With physical tools and a growing résumé, expect more programs to enter the mix as he continues to develop. For now, Kansas State has made the first move—and they likely will not be his last.
Mbamarah is still early in his recruitment, but with Power 5 interest starting to build, expect his name to generate more buzz heading into the 2025 season.
Kansas State, fresh off a 9–4 season and a 44–41 bowl win over Rutgers, is reloading its receiver room after losing Keagan Johnson, Tre Spivey III, and Dante Cephus.
Transfers Jerand Bradley, Caleb Medford, and Jaron Tibbs are expected to boost a unit led by rising star quarterback Avery Johnson.
