Kansas State is investing in its frontcourt future with the addition of junior college center Stephen Osei, a 6-foot-11 prospect from Casper College who is expected to redshirt in 2025–26.
Osei, originally from Toronto, averaged 11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 63% from the field last season. He played a key role in Casper’s 25-win campaign, emerging as a physical interior presence with two-way potential.
He chose the Wildcats over offers from UTSA, Incarnate Word, FDU, and Eastern Illinois.
Osei is expected to sit out his first season in Manhattan due to injury. He’ll have four years to play three and is viewed as a long-term development piece with a high ceiling.
The commitment adds to a busy offseason for head coach Jerome Tang, who is rebuilding the roster after they finished 16–17 overall and 9–11 in Big 12 play.
The Wildcats missed the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year and return just three scholarship players: point guard David Castillo and forwards Mobi Ikegwuruka and Taj Manning.
To fill the gaps, Kansas State has hit the portal hard, landing MAC Player of the Year Nate Johnson (Akron), forward Khamari McGriff (UNC Wilmington), 6-foot-7 guard Abdi Bashir (Omaha), and Serbian guard Andrej Kostic.
Osei becomes the latest addition in a retooled roster aiming to get K-State back in the mix in a loaded Big 12.
