Kansas State is looking ahead on the recruiting trail, extending a scholarship offer to 2028 forward Ruach Gony, a rising prospect out of Arizona.

Gony, a 6-foot-8 wing from Bella Vista Prep and the Arizona Unity EYBL program, announced the offer Tuesday on social media.

He’s also picked up Division I offers from Northern Arizona, California, and Auburn, with his recruitment beginning to gain steam.

Gony has flashed intriguing upside on tape, showing off fluid athleticism, a developing face-up game, and strong instincts on the defensive end.

Kansas State has been aggressive in reshaping its roster this offseason after missing the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year.

Head coach Jerome Tang returns just three scholarship players — point guard David Castillo and forwards Mobi Ikegwuruka and Taj Manning — and has hit the transfer portal hard to reload.

So far, the Wildcats have landed a deep transfer class that includes MAC Player of the Year Nate Johnson (Akron), forward Khamari McGriff (UNC Wilmington), 6-foot-7 guard Abdi Bashir (Omaha), Serbian guard Andrej Kostic, and 6-foot-11 JUCO center Stephen Osei, who’s expected to redshirt.

In the age of NIL and the transfer portal, early relationships can go a long way. Even if Gony takes a different route initially, Kansas State’s early investment could pay off down the line.
