A Kansas State basketball transfer has found a new home in the Southeastern Conference.
Achor Achor, a 6-foot-9 forward who appeared in just seven games last season for the Wildcats, is headed to Starkville to play for head coach Chris Jans and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Achor averaged 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 13 minutes per game after transferring from Samford. He was expected to play a larger role at Kansas State, but it never materialized, and he left the program due to personal reasons, according to The Topeka Capital-Journal.
“I felt like I needed a fresh start,” Achor told On3. “I really connected well with their coaches. Plus, the fact Coach Jans has won everywhere and has a winning setup—that is a program I want to be part of.”
At Samford, Achor averaged 16.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during the 2023–24 season and was a First Team All-Southern Conference selection.
