Kansas State is set to take on Tulane for the second time in three years and is hoping to get their first win in program history against the Green Wave.

Okay, let's not freak out, the Wildcats are just 0-2 against Tulane and the first time they played each other was back in 1988 before the Bill Snyder era in Manhattan. Kansas State has vastly different squads from both of those matchups especially on the offensive side of the ball.

The majority of the players starting in this game didn't even see the field the last time Kansas State played Tulane, so this is truly a new matchup for both teams.

This will be an important win for Kansas State because the schedule only gets tougher from here on out with a non-conference game against Arizona due to a contract agreed to before they joined the Big 12, and then the start of Big 12 play.

Kansas State is favored to win this game, so here are the final odds and a final prediction of today's game against Tulane.

Tulane vs. No. 17 Kansas State final prediction

Kansas State is favored by one possession in this game and the Wildcats probably don't want it to even be that close. After a closer game than they expected in Week 1, the Wildcats know they need to come out and show out in order to beat a tougher Tulane team.

The defense will do its job so it will be up to the offense to come alive like they did in the second half of the UT Martin game. Johnson will have to be willing to use his legs more if the pocket collapses and the running back duo of Dylan Edwards and DJ Giddens will be important, especially if it is still raining.

The weather could affect the offense, so the run game will be so important that this new offensive line needs to be together even more. Kansas State can walk away with the win if they play clean football and get the job done.
