It is no secret that Kansas State is a favorite to win the Big 12 next season, and a lot of that is thanks to the fact that Avery Johnson is taking his rightful place as the starter for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats have also shown up in a number of pre-season top 25 college football rankings usually coming in around the middle of the rankings. However, Andy Staples with On3 must see something great in the Wildcats because he has them ranked in the top 10.

Staples has the Wildcats ranked No. 10 in his post-spring portal rankings, and he has them as the highest-ranked Big 12 teams. The only other Big 12 teams to show up in the rankings are Utah coming in at No. 15 and Oklahoma State at No. 23.

Kansas State is slated to have a very exciting 2024 season with the addition of a few members in the transfer portal and of course, Johnson making his anticipated debut as the full-time starter.

Most way-to-early rankings have Kansas State either finishing at the top of the Big 12 or at least in the top three. The Wildcats still have a few question marks going into 2024 like what the new offensive line will look like and how the defensive will look.

However, if there is anything Kansas State fans know, its to trust Chris Klieman. Johnson no doubt has to adjust to being the full-time starter, but with an entire offseason to work out with the players he has around him, he can easily lead the Wildcats to at least a Big 12 Championship game.
