Kansas State showed something that some teams have struggled to show so far this season and that was the ability to fight and come back when it mattered most. The Wildcats didn't have to put it all on one person though in order to get the comeback win, it was truly a team comeback win.

Both the offense and defense were not getting it done in the first half against Tulane and at halftime, Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman challenged the team to go out there and execute the way he knew they could. Klieman said in his postgame press conference that he felt the team didn't have the best week of practice and that was a big reason the Wildcats came out flat, but after halftime, it was like they were a whole new team.

While this was truly a big team win, three players stood out and made some big plays to help the Wildcats get the win. Here are the three players who earned Week 2 game balls.

1. Jack Fabris

Redshirt freshman linebacker Jack Fabris was the player that picked up the fumble in the second half and ran it back for a touchdown. Klieman touched on this in his postgame press conference, but Fabris is young and could have chosen to just jump on the ball, but being a "coach's kid," Fabris was smart enough to scoop up the ball and take it to the house.

Even though Fabris wasn't responsible for the fumble, his play was almost as big as the fumble itself. That touchdown ended up being the difference in the game, it was the reason Tulane absolutely had to score a touchdown in order to tie it at the end, and ultimately, it was the go-ahead game-winning touchdown.

2. VJ Payne

VJ Payne had a great day on defense throughout the whole game, but the biggest play he made was definitely at the end of the game when he intercepted Tulane quarterback Darian Mensah to seal the win for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats had struggled to get a lot of pressure on Mensah during the first half, but definitely got him under duress in the second half. That pressure was why Mensah had to get the ball out quickly with just a few seconds left on the clock and Payne was able to stay cool, calm, and collected and finish the game with an interception.

3. Avery Johnson

It almost seems like Johnson could get a game ball every game, but he especially deserves one in this game. Everyone knows that Johnson can destroy defenses with his legs, but instead of going to his bread and butter in this game, Johnson showed off his incredible arm ability and he did not disappoint.

Did he miss a few throws? Absolutely, every quarterback misses throws, but the poise and patience he showed, especially on that fourth-and-one play, was one of a veteran quarterback, which is exactly what Kansas State fans are excited to see.
