Kansas State has been uncharacteristically quiet in the transfer portal this offseason, which is a little unusual for head coach Chris Klieman. Kansas State did lose a lot of key pieces such as Will Howard, Kobe Savage, and Will Lee III.
However, there is hope with young quarterback Avery Johnson ready to take the starting role in 2024. In the spring window, the biggest transfer the Wildcats landed was running back Dylan Edwards, who has been close to Johnson since they were kids. With three years of eligibility left, those two could become an excellent duo for years to come.
The Wildcats also managed to bring in help in the wide receiver position with Dante Cephas from Penn State in January, who brings experience to a young offense. Kansas State will have a new look as a whole in 2024, but Klieman has done more with less in the past and Wildcat fans are worried. If anything, they feel like this could be there year because in Johnson we trust.
