Last Week: 6
I was not expecting Kansas State to be here on these power rankings two weeks ago. The Wildcats went from being tied for first place with a 14-4 record and 4-1 in the conference to losing four straight and being ranked 11th in the conference.
A defense that K-State relied on to win has suddenly disappeared. The Wildcats went through a gauntlet playing at Iowa State and Houston, but this was their week to bounce back. K-State had a game at home against Oklahoma and then traveled to Oklahoma State. These were two very winnable games for the Wildcats that they just dropped.
Now K-State is set to play No. 8 Kansas tonight at home, but it is hard to say this is the game they will turn it around in. Jerome Tang needs his team to turn it around if they want to try and make a run at the NCAA Tournament in March.
