No. 14 Kansas State is about to take on their first ranked opponent of the season as No. 20 Arizona comes to town. This will be a showing of the Wildcats and should be a big game to watch in the Big 12, even though this isn't a conference game.

This game between Kansas State and Arizona won't count as a conference as both teams signed a contract back in 2016 to play on this date as a non-conference game. Even though Arizona is in the Big 12 now, due to the previously agreed upon contract, this game will not count toward Big 12 standings.

This will be a great matchup of two young quarterbacks, Kansas State sophomore Avery Johnson and Arizona sophomore Noah Fifita. Both are starting to come into form and each has powerful weapons in different position groups. Fifita has a strong wide receiver group while Johnson has a strong running back group, so it will come down to which offense can work more efficiently against the opposite defense.

This game will be played on Friday on FOX and will be the headlining game of the night.

  • Play-by-play announcer: Tim Brando
  • Color commentator: Devin Gardner

Kansas State and Arizona will have some great announcers for their big matchup starting with Tim Brando. Brando comes in as one of the most recognizable voices in college football and he will call play-by-play. Devin Gardner comes in to do color commentary. Gardner has his own experience with football as a quarterback with Michigan back in the early 2010s.

To round out the crew, they will have Josh Sims on the sideline who has been with FOX since 2021. Sims will be around to do any on-filed interviews including the new interviews that can be held after the first and third quarter.

Of course, Kansas State will also have their radio crew rolling on K-State Sports Network with their usual team in case you can't watch the game.
