The transfer portal can be both a great thing and the worst thing in college football. In this day and age, it feels like no one is loyal to a team anymore. Since the transfer portal began, players have the ability to move from school to school without having to sit out a year.

Kansas State has most certainly been hit by the transfer portal, especially this past offseason, but they have also benefitted from all the wonders of the portal. No team is immune to the effects of the portal, but certain coaches know how to work it to their advantage.

Head coach Chris Klieman may not get the most amount of players in the transfer portal, but he knows how to get the ones that will make a difference.

Here are the five best transfers Kansas State has ever gotten since the transfer portal officially opened.

5. 463. Wide Receiver. Iowa. Keagan Johnson. Keagan Johnson. Kansas Stae transfer portal. . . player

After spending two seasons with the Iowa Hawkeyes Keagan Johnson made the move to Kansas State to join Klieman's offense. At Iowa, Johnson had only 20 receptions for 363 yards and two touchdowns with most of those stats coming in his first season.

At Kansas State, Johnson did not put up incredibly high numbers, which may make you wonder why he is on this list. He catch 24 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson, however, has had a good spring and is looking to be one of the top receivers for the Wildcats in 2024.

Johnson was a good receiver for Will Howard and now that he has had a season to work with Avery Johnson, these two Johnsons have had the time to build a connection. With Johnons having at least two more years at Kansas State, he could end up being a big transfer.
