Kansas State's hire of former Belmont head coach Casey Alexander is already making waves joining the Wildcats in Manhattan. Now, the rebuild shifts focus to hiring his staff.
The first candidate expected to follow Alexander brings an impressive resume, highlighted by an induction to the Bruins Hall of Fame.
Kansas State reportedly hiring former Belmont assistant Kerron Johnson
Alexander's coaching staff at Belmont was full of big names, including fourth-year assistant Kerron Johnson. He played for the Bruins from 2009-13, averaging double figure point totals per game in each of his last two seasons.

His time featured three NCAA Tournament appearances under former head coach Rick Byrd and the program's only 30-win season since 2000. According to his bio, Johnson is "one of the most decorated players in program history."
Johnson won two Most Valuable Player awards, first in the Atlantic Sun in 2012 and the Ohio Valley Conference in 2013.
In his four years with the Bruins, Johnson has coached in four consecutive 20-win seasons, including a 2026 regular season title. Johnson is the first member of Alexander's former staff rumored to join the Wildcats staff since his departure from the Bruins.
