Former Bill Snyder assistant coach rejoining Kansas State football staff

Another former assistant is back in the Little Apple, this time with ties to legendary head coach Bill Snyder.

Former Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Joe Bob Clements is back at Kansas State — this time as part of head coach Collin Klein’s staff. Clements, who previously coached at Oklahoma State, will serve as an assistant for the Wildcats in 2026.

Kansas State welcomes back Bill Snyder staffer ahead of 2026 season

Clements first coached for the Wildcats in 1999 as a student assistant. He also served as a defensive ends coach from 2003-05, a defensive line coach from 2009-11 and defensive run game coordinator in 2012 before leaving for the Cowboys in 2013. 

Clements was also part of the coaching staff that won a Big 12 championship in 2012. Six of his seasons in Stillwater resulted in 10 or more wins.
