The NFL draft is just days away. One Kansas State Wildcat could go in round one. Another Wildcat could be a surprise early selection.

This year’s NFL draft begins on Thursday.

It’s no secret Kansas State’s Big 12 Defensive Player of the year Jordan Willis will go be one of the first Defensive Ends taken. I will be very surprised if someone does not take him in the first round.

Pete Prisco agrees and includes Willis as a first rounder in his mock draft for CBS.

In January, Kansas State fans were somewhat surprised when they learned linebacker Elijah Lee wanted to leave early for the NFL.

A look at his stats shows he will be difficult to replace. He was in on over 100 tackles last season.

You may remember he used social media to make the announcement.

At 6’ 3” inches tall and 228 pounds, Lee was in on 72 solo tackles last season and named first-team All- Big 12.

The most recent report at CBS indicates Lee as a potential 6th or 7th round selection.

While that is possible, I believe Lee should surprise fans and go early on day two of the day two.

There are just too many positive qualities for teams to pass on him as late as the 7th round. In addition to his athletic ability, he also earned All-Big 12 Academic Honors in 2015.

Lee’s bio according to the Kansas State Athletic site describes him as a high-motor player. That is an understatement.

While I like Lee to go early on day two, I am concerned about Charmeachealle Moore. CBS lists him at #400 in their estimation.

If Moore is not taken in the draft. He has all the ability necessary to sign as a free agent and succeed in the NFL.
