Welcome to Wildcat Weekly Wrap (WWW.) The dog days of summer are upon us and K-State sports news is hard to come by. However, as always, the Jug Of Snyder team has been digging up relevant and interesting news on the Cats.In the coming weeks we will get to report on the basketball team’s trip to Brazil, the Olympics, and then, just around the corner…FOOTBALL!!! Can you taste it?

This week, Jug Of Snyder introduced our newest writer, Danna Voegeli. Danna debuted with a feature on the impact that small Kansas towns have had on the football program at K-State. There is no question that from work ethic to quality athletes, small towns have been a key contributor to our success. Coupled with Snyder’s unique ability to find an inconspicuous rock in a small town and turn it into a diamond, it’s a recipe for a winning.

In other football news K-State defensive players Nigel Malone and Arthur Brown were named to the Nagurski Award watch list and the Bednarik Award watch list. The duo are coming off dramatic seasons last year and should lead the way for an improved defense in 2012. Additionally, Malone was named to the Thorpe Award watch list, which is given specifically to defensive backs. He finished as a semifinalist for that award this past season.

Also honored this week were former K-State quarterback Michael Bishop and basketball great Willie Murrell as they were inducted into the Kansas Hall of Fame. Bishop lead the Wildcats to within 1 play of the national championship game in 1998, and Willie Murrell led the basketball team to a Final Four appearance in 1964.

Apparently, Spencer and Kevin Kietzman decided it was time to let the cat out of the bag. On July 5th they announced publicly that K-State legend Jacob Pullen was in fact, a serial bike thief. If you missed the response from Jug Of Snyder’s Dean Jameson, check out the 7/9/12 Jug Of News.

Finally this week, Jug Of Snyder unveiled the latest edition of K-State Baseball in the Pros. Check out this week’s edition for a compiled summary of all the players straight from kstatesports.com.
