One of Missouri’s top defensive prospects is heading to the Big 12.
Three-star safety Nick McClellan announced his commitment to Kansas State on Monday.

Rated a three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite with a score of .8578, McClellan is ranked No. 12 in Missouri and No. 106 nationally among safeties in the 2026 cycle.
A two-way player at CBC, he’s made an impact at quarterback but projects as a full-time defensive back at the next level thanks to his athleticism and football IQ.
Kansas State was one of the first programs to offer McClellan. He chose the Wildcats over regional offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, and Missouri, following a camp showing and an official visit to Manhattan on Friday.

McClellan is the 13th commitment in K-State’s 2026 class under head coach Chris Klieman.
The Wildcats are coming off a strong 2024 season and enter 2025 with momentum, ranked No. 12 in USA Today’s preseason poll and No. 16 by Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt.
Veteran defenders like linebacker Austin Romaine and safety V.J. Payne return to lead a unit that continues to add talent. McClellan gives K-State a high-upside athlete in the secondary with room to develop at the college level.
