It hasn’t been long since first-year head coach Casey Alexander landed his first commitment as the Kansas State men's basketball head coach. Now, he’s done it again, this time landing a recruit down south.

First came Devin Hutcherson, who committed to the Wildcats after reopening his recruitment following Alexander’s coaching change. Now, the story is Jaylen Alexander, another former Belmont recruit committed to play for Alexander and the Wildcats men’s basketball.

The announcement came just after 1:15 on Saturday afternoon. According to his post, “plans change, goals don’t.”
His resume doesn’t lie, either. Alexander was listed as the 2025-26 Alabama High School Player of the Year, named a two-time Alabama All-State selection and was also named the Class 6A State Tournament MVP his senior season.
Alexander led his alma mater, Oxford High School, to 30-4 and its first state championship in program history. In his junior season, Alexander averaged 18.8 points per game, 6.7 rebounds, 6.6 assists and just shy of three steals. He topped 2,000 career points towards the end of this season.
His final season was much the same, eclipsing over 19 points and six rebounds per contest.
