Kansas State safety Marques Sigle was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, making it three consecutive years that at least three Wildcats have been drafted.
Sigle, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from Omaha, Neb., played 50 career games for K-State, starting every contest over the final two seasons after transferring from North Dakota State.
In those two years, Sigle totaled 123 tackles, four interceptions, and 16 pass breakups, becoming one of the most dynamic defenders in the Big 12.

At the NFL Combine, Sigle turned heads with the fastest 40-yard dash time among safeties. Originally viewed as a potential undrafted free agent, his standout performance in Indianapolis significantly boosted his draft stock.
An ESPN mock draft had Sigle going in the seventh round to the Dallas Cowboys. Instead, the 49ers grabbed him in the fifth round with the 150th overall pick, a clear sign of his rising value.
"Sigle can stay tight on receivers, undercut routes, and tracks the ball well. He catches passes away from his frame and is a threat with the ball in his hands. An aggressive run defender, he closes quickly and makes plays in the backfield," ESPN draft analyst Steve Muench said.
Sigle's selection marks the third straight year Kansas State has had at least three players drafted. Under head coach Chris Klieman, 13 Wildcats have now been selected in the NFL Draft.
Last season, Kansas State finished 9–4 overall and 5–4 in conference play. The Wildcats capped the year with a 44–41 victory over Rutgers in their bowl game on Dec. 26. K-State opens the 2025 season against Iowa State in Dublin, Ireland.
