The Kansas State football program saw several players announce their intent to transfer on Wednesday, according to posts on their social media accounts.

Linebackers Tyson Struber, Jake Stonebreaker, Will Granger, and Kaden McMahan, safety Trey Krause, wide receiver Cooper Warren, and running back La’James White have all announced they are seeking opportunities to play elsewhere.

Their decisions come as NCAA programs across the country reportedly face new roster limitations and are making adjustments ahead of the 2025 season. Head Football Coach Chris Klieman has reportedly expressed opposition to the shrinking of rosters, particularly its impact on walk-on players.

Of the players transferring, White was the most accomplished. He appeared as a reserve running back and on special teams in the first four games before an injury ended his season. He recorded his first carry of the year in the season opener against UT-Martin—a 12-yard touchdown. In 2023, he logged three total carries.

Struber appeared in six games last season on special teams—including kickoff coverage, punt coverage, and punt return units—and played as a reserve linebacker in the opener against UT-Martin. He recorded one tackle. Struber began his career as a wide receiver before switching to defense. In high school, he was rated the eighth-best player in Kansas for the Class of 2022, having set numerous records in 8-man football.

Stonebreaker played in four regular-season games and the Rate Bowl against Rutgers, primarily on special teams. He logged 56 total plays and made one tackle. He was rated the top overall prospect in Colorado for the Class of 2024 by ESPN.

Krause, a senior, saw action in three games last season—as a reserve against UT-Martin, Cincinnati, and Iowa State. McMahan appeared on kickoff coverage and punt return units during the Rate Bowl. Granger and Warren redshirted last year and did not record any statistics during their time with the Wildcats.

Last season, the team finished 9–4 overall and 5–4 in conference play, despite entering the year as a preseason favorite. They capped their season with a 44–41 win over Rutgers in the Rate Bowl on Dec. 26.
