Kansas State will hit the road to take on BYU in their first Big 12 game of the season!

The Wildcats will not just open Big 12 this weekend against BYU, but they will have to open conference play on the road in Provo, a very tough to play.

After coming off a big win against Arizona, the Wildcats have a lot of buzz around them right now as the team to beat in the Big 12, especially with Utah and Oklahoma looking a little more human than people expected. However, K-State just needs to do what quarterback Avery Johnson talked about at Big 12 media days back in July.

Focus on the next game.

Kansas State can't afford to already be looking at the Big 12 Championship because they aren't there yet, they aren't the only undefeated team in the conference right now and they are about to face another one. BYU is coming in hungry to prove that they are not a bottom-tier team in the Big 12 and are trying to make a name for themselves in the conference.

Bottom line, this is an important game for Kansas State because they have Oklahoma State in Manhattan next week, and getting a win this week will give them momentum next week. However, they need to put everything they have into this game against BYU before they can move onto Oklahoma State.

Kansas State and BYU will have a late kickoff for fans on the East Coast and even for those at home in Manhattan. Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. CT and 10:30 p.m. EST. With the Cougars being out in Utah, Kansas State is going to feel like they are playing a Pac-12 After Dark game against VYU.

The game will be broadcast on the main ESPN channel, and the good news for DIRECTV users is that the company agreed to terms with Disney to get their channels back on the air. So even if you are watching the game on cable or signing into the ESPN app, all users can see the game again. The game can be streamed on the app or watched on cable.
