Way-to-early Big 12 running back rankings: Can DJ Giddens take a step forward?

The running back position is an important one in the Big 12, and DJ Giddens is one of the best in the conference.

LJ Martin was the leading rusher for the Cougars in 2023 with 518 yards and four touchdowns. BYU ranked last in the rushing last season averaging just 104.3 rushing yards per game, 10 less than the next teams. Martin carried the ball just 109 times over 100 times less than some of the best running backs in the conference. In order to move up these rankings, Martin needs to up his yards per carry which was just 4.2 in 2023.
