The running back position is an important one in the Big 12, and DJ Giddens is one of the best in the conference.

Lance Leipold has done wonders at Kansas taking a program that never seemed to figure out how to win to now a team that has been to two straight bowl games. Devein Neal was the leading rusher for the Jayhawks in 2023 with 203 carries for 1,280 yards and 16 touchdowns. The return is huge with the news of the Jayhawks wide receiver trio also returning, giving their new quarterback a big lift going into 2024.
