The luck of the Wildcats, Kansas State football is heading to Ireland in 2025

Get your passports ready Kansas State fans because the Wildcats are heading to Ireland in 2025. Kansas State football will be kicking off their 2025 season in Week 0 against Iowa State in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin.

This will be the fourth Aer Lingus College Football Classic, the 10th college football game played in Ireland, and the first-ever Big 12 matchup in Ireland. This will be the second time the Wildcats have played outside the United States in program history.

The last game to be played in Ireland was in 2023 when Notre Dame and Navy went head-to-head. Before the Wildcats and Cyclones face off though, Georgia Tech and Florida State will kick off the 2024 season in Ireland. The game between Kansas State and Iowa State will be played in AVIVA Stadium and will mark the fourth consecutive year of college football starting its season in Dublin.

The last time Kansas State played outside of the country was back in 1992 when the Wildcats took on Nebraska in Tokoyo, Japan. This will also be the first time Kansas State opens its season against a conference opponent since they did in 1996 against Texas Tech when the conference officially became the Big 12.

Whenever Kansas State and Iowa State face off, it never disappoints. In their 2023 matchup, it was an offensive explosion with the Cyclones prevailing after running back Abu Sama went off for 227 yards and three touchdowns. This game should not disappoint next season, especially with young quarterback Avery Johnson having a year of starting under his belt.
