The AP Poll officially should mean nothing to Kansas State fans.

After playing in one of the two ranked matchups on the weekend, No. 14 Kansas State put a beat down on No. 20 Arizona. The other ranked matchup was No. 6 Missouri vs. No. 24 Boston College and that was a close game.

So with a 31-7 win over Arizona, one would think the AP Poll would put some respect on Kansas State's name and move them up a couple of spots in the rankings.

Nope.

The AP Top 25 rankings came out at 2:00 p.m. EST on Sunday and Wildcats fans were eager to see their team would fall. Maybe Top 10? Surely at the very least, they would be the top-ranked Big 12 team.

Again, you would be wrong on both fronts.

The AP Poll chose to move Kansas State up just one spot from No. 14 to No. 13 in the Top 25 rankings. After one of two teams with a win over another Top 25 team, voters felt that the Wildcats were only good enough to move up one spot.

There were two teams, USC and Penn State, that did not even play in Week 2 that were still ranked ahead of Kansas State. Utah, a newcomer to the Big 12 this season, beat Utah State 38-21, which yes they got a win, but they allowed 21 points to Utah State. The Utes are still ranked above the Wildcats.

The Wildcats moved up more spots after beating unranked Tulane when they went from No. 16 to No. 14 in Week 2.

Kansas State held Arizona to just one touchdown the entire game. Arizona scored on the first drive of the game and then never saw the end zone again. Arizona also has one of the best if not the best wide receiver in the country and Kansas State was able to keep him out of the end zone.

It truly is crazy to see that the Wildcats only moved up one spot in the rankings and it's not crazy to say it is downright insulting.

don't be surprised if Kansas State is keeping tabs on this one and using it as motivation as they move on in the season. The team can't dwell on this however as they have a game to prepare for this week, their first game of Big 12 play against BYU, a team the Wildcats can't sleep on.
