Ryan Mueller was a walk-on prior to the 2010 season, however, it took him a couple of years to see action. Once Mueller was worked into the defensive line, he became a 26-game starter in his final two seasons.

Starting his junior year, Mueller's numbers jumped up as he went from three tackles for loss his sophomore year to 18.5. He also had 11.s sacks in his junior season and four forced fumbles. His numbers did go down just a little bit his senior season, but they were still good enough to get him to the NFL.

Mueller won the 2013 Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and was a 2013 Second-Team All-American along with All-Big 12. Mueller however went undrafted but found his way to the San Diego Chargers. After being released he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles where he also had a short stint. Ever since he has had a successful career in the XFL.
