The 5 best quarterbacks in Kansas State football history
Josh Freeman just missed the Bill Snyder era actually playing the three seasons between his coaching tenures. Freeman played under Ron Prince, which also says a lot if he is on this list. The Wildcats struggled under Ron Prince, but Freeman was one of the only bright spots on those teams.
Freeman holds the career passing yards record at Kansas State with 8,078 yards and no one has come close to his record other than Skylar Thompson who played five seasons at K-State. The impressive thing is that Freeman holds the record playing just three years, but who knows, Avery Johnson could be eyeing that record.
Freeman is also second on the single-season passing yards list for K-State with 3,353 yards in his sophomore season. He is also second in career passing touchdowns with 44, a record that was broken this past season by former K-State quarterback Will Howard.
Even though Freeman played in a time frame where the Wildcats really struggled, his stats speak for themselves and those in the NFL noticed. Freeman was drafted with the 17th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
