Kansas State's roster looks quite different this season losing three guys to the NFL Draft adn many others as undrafted free agents. There are a lot of questions around many position groups throughout the team, but of course, how can anyone worry about anything when you have Avery Johnson?

There are always key guys that step up each season that the team has to lean on in hopes of having a successful year. Kansas State always has that small group of certain players that seem to make them great and the rest of the team is a good ensemble.

So looking at the 2024 season, who are the three most important players on the Kansas State roster?

DJ Giddens

DJ Giddens is important for many different reasons. Obviously, opposing defenses are going to be game-planing on how to stop Avery Johnson, but that could open the door for Giddens. Giddens has shown that not only could he take over for Deuce Vaughn, but he made sure the running game was still lethal for Kansas State.

Giddens can also be a weapon that Kansas State can use if Johnson is struggling for a game, or to try adn take pressure off of Johnson. Defenses can sell on the pass but then Giddens can make them pay on the ground and then when they try to cover the ground game, Johnson makes them hurt with his arm.

Marques Sigle

Marques Sigle is going to be the general for this Kansas State defense. The Wildcats lost quite a few guys this past offseason between the NFL and the transfer portal. Sigle will be the middle of the field general ina. group that has a lot of young players and new players to the team.

Sigle comes in with good experience in Joe Klanderman's defense, but he will have to make sure he is vocal on the field and helps those around him to be great.

Avery Johnson

There is no surprise that Avery Johnson is the most important player on this Kansas State squad. The Wildcats have gone all in on Johnson and they are confident that he will be able to step up and perform the way they need him to.

The great thing about Johnson is that he makes it so tough for the defense to stop him. Defenses have to respect both his arm and his legs, so they have to play him straight up allowing him to do as he pleases. Also when they try to sack him, he is masterful at getting away from the tackle as he didn't take a sack last season.

Johnson will be the reason this team goes far this season and fans can't wait to see what he can do.
