BYU was one win away from being bowl-eligible in thier first season in the Big 12. The Cougars had a strong first season in the Big 12 in thier first year even though they didn't make it to a bowl game. BYU had a win over Texas Tech and even took Oklahoma State, the Big 12 runner-up, to double overtime in the last game of the season.
Only bringing in four commits is not a good look for BYU, especially with being in a new conference. They managed to only lose eight guys to the portal, but they need to bring in more talent to put them over the hump to be a contender in the Big 12.
