Don't worry Kansas State fans, Avery Johnson did not cut his hair. Johnson still has his flowing locks, but he did give College Gameday host Pat McAfee a scare.

Johnson joined College Gameday on their connected segment where the Gameday team talks to a player or a coach about their game through a phone call. Of course, they have a camera in the stadium on them as the player or coach walks the field, is warming up, or is watching the team.

In New Orleans right now, it is raining and since Johnson was walking the field, he had his hood up, so the crew could not see his flowing locks. McAfee at one point had to ask Johnson if he cut his hair and at that point, he pulled his hood down, giving the crew what they wanted.

Apart from talking about Johnson's amazing hair, the crew asked him what being the starter in Manhattan means to him and even about the offensive coordinator position change with former coach Collin Klien leaving for Texas A&M in the offseason.

Johnson chose to stay home in Kansas after winning the Kansas State Gatorade Player of the Year Award and receiving offers from teams like Oregon and Washington. However, he still feels like he needs to make a name for himself.

"It's just a great feeling, all my guys on this team, they believe in me," Johnson said on the mic. "All that stuff from the past, none of that really matters to me anymore, I still have to make a name for myself, I still have to go out and perform each week."

With Klein gone, offensive line coach Conor Riley took over the offensive coordinator position which could have caused some major changes with the offense, but according to Johnson, not much has changed.

Johnson says that not much has changed due to head coach Chris Klieman having his hand on the offense quite a bit. Even though the Wildcats have kept things pretty even keel, they have of course added things in the offseason.

Johnson and the Wildcats will take on Tulane at noon EST and 11:00 a.m. CT in New Orleans.
