Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman has landed probably his biggest recruit for the Class of 2025 and the best part is he chose the Wildcats over the Jayhawks.

Five-star recruit Linkon Cure made his decision about where to play his college career over the holiday week and the Goodland, Kansas native chose the Wildcats' purple and white over the Jayhawks' red and blue.

Cure was a highly recruited tight end in the Class of 2025 and had narrowed it down to four choices: Kansas State, Kansas, Oregon, and Texas A&M. Cure's commitment is the highest for Kansas State since quarterback Jake Rubley, who was ranked No. 28 committed back in 2021. The Goodland native comes in ranked No. 64 in the 2025 ESPN 300.

As the No. 2 tight end in the country, Cure will come in at a great time with Ben Sinnott leaving the Wildcats this past season, Klieman will be happy to have a young talented tight end coming in next season.

The 6-foot-6 prospect from Goodland Kansas, which is a small town on the west side of the state, will spend his next four years in Manhattan, which is a little over four hours from his hometown. Cure took official visits to all four schools, but it was after a long emotional conversation with Klieman early in the morning during his official visit, that Cure knew he wanted to be a Wildcat.

Cure's older brother Leyton Cure is a tight end at Kansas, so there will be a house divided for the Cure family. In high school, Cure was hindered by a hamstring injury his sophomore year that shortened his season to just four games. However, he came back with a vengeance in his junior season with 42 receptions for 946 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Not only is Cure successful on the football field, but he is also a dual sport athlete and is a three-time state champion hurdler for track and field and also helped lead the Goodland men's basketball team to the state title game in 2024.

Klieman is building for the future and it can be seen with the commitments of two four-star athletes in June as well as wide receiver Adonis Moise and offensive lineman Brock Heath.
