Kansas State football players snubbed in Big 12 Preseason Football Team honors

Along with the Big 12 Media Preseason Poll, the Big 12 Preseason Football Team and Individual Honors have been revealed. Kansas State got the recognition they deserved in the preseason poll, but not a single player made it on the team or was projected any individual honors.

The two players that probably got snubbed the most were Avery Johnson and DJ Giddens. Granted Johnson probably didn't get the honor due to the fact that he hasn't really played a lot, there is just a lot of hype around him and what he has the ability to do for K-State this next season.

However, Giddens did a lot to prove himself this past season including being one of the biggest parts of the Wildcat offense. In 2023, Giddens ran for 1,226 yards, 10 touchdowns, 323 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.

Ollie Gordon II and Tahj Brooks are great running backs, but Giddens is going to be the biggest returning player on the K-State offense and will be a part of a lethal running game coupled with Dylan Edwards, transfer from Colorado, and of course Johnson.

There could have also been an argument for safety Marques Sigle to be named to the team as well. Sigle will be the focal point of defense for Kansas State and one of the most experienced players. Sigle had 63 total tackles in 2023, nine passes defended, and one interception.

Obviously, these are just preseason predictions and nobody knows how the All-Big 12 team will shake out or how the individual awards will be handed out, but the fact that not a single Kansas State player made it on is crazy.
