Kansas State women's basketball gets to keep their fearless leader around for a little bit longer. Jeff Mittie who took the head coaching position at Kansas State back in 2014, is now set to be with the Wildcats at least through the 2028-2029 season.

Mittie has had a great career at Kansas State leading the team to now five NCAA Tournaments and eight postseason tournaments altogether. He just signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at Kansas State through 2029 and by the end of his contract, his base pay will be worth $950,000.

As the head coach at Kansas State, Mittie's resume speaks for itself.

He has a 190-135 (.585) record and that includes four-20 win seasons, and as it is seen by his record, he is only 10 wins away from 200 career wins at Kansas State, a milestone he will no-doubt accomplish next season. By making it to 200 wins, Mittie will become the third coach in program history to accomplish such an honor

Mittie has most certainly built a legacy at Kansas State with the second-most NCAA Tournament appearances and the second-most NCAA Tournament victories in program history. He has also produced a lot of talent at Kansas State with 25 All-Big 12 players, six players named to the All-Big 12 Defensive Team, and five freshmen named to the Big 12-All Freshman team.

Even as a coach, Mittie prioritizes the classroom over the court and it shows with him having 59 players earn Academic All-Big 12 honors and five players named Big-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Year 11 at Kansas State might be his best yet with 10 players returning that were responsible for 85% of Kansas State's scoring. Of those players includes seventh-year senior Ayoka Lee, who if she can stay healthy, could be Player of the Year in the Big 12, Serena Sundell, Brylee Glenn, and Jaelyn Glenn.
