The Big 12 Conference started out as the Big 8, then became the Big 12 and if they wanted to, they could rebrand again to become the Big 16. With teams moving from conference to conference, the Pac-12 is now virtually non-existent, the Big Ten has almost 20 teams in the conference, and the ACC will have teams from the Pacific joining their conference.
The Big 12, which has been a historically Midwestern conference will now stretch from Florida to California. Teams like Kansas State and Kansas now travel more than they ever used to and to places that they had never been more than once or twice.
So looking at the conference, which teams would Kansas State enjoy not playing as much for any sort of reason? If they had the power to kick some teams out, which ones would they give the boot?
Oklahoma State is the one veteran Big 12 team that seems to be rivaling Kansas State for the Big 12 title. The Cowboys have also been a bit of a thorn in the Wildcats' side for quite a few years.
If Oklahoma State left the conference then it opens the door for Kansas State to take the football and maybe even baseball crown in the coming years.
