ESPN has officially released their 2024 college football hype song if you are a fan of the singer-songwriter Jelly Roll you are probably pretty excited about it. However, if you aren't a fan or don't know who Jelly Roll is, you may be scratching your head as to why this is the avenue ESPN chose to go down.
The song that ESPN chose to use for the hype video is none other than 'Get By,' which seems interesting cause some teams and some conferences are hoping to just get by this season.
Jelly Roll's latest single will be featured on this upcoming album, but it just doesn't like the song that should be featured for this upcoming college football season.
The ESPN PR team released a statement announcing that the song will become the anthem for this season and was used in the first hype video of the season featuring almost every FBS team from Boise State to UCF to Kansas State.
This song seems like a horrible choice compared to some of the songs used in the past year such as 'Something Real' by Post Malone, 'Natural' by Imagine Dragons, and this writer's favorite, 'Centuries' by Fall Out Boy.
Some fans feel as though this is the song getting them even more hyped for the season, while other fans say they love the video but will probably mute the TV when they hear the song. Others talked about the song being a downgrade from years past, and they are probably right.
College football needs to do a little more than "get by" this season as it is a season of new beginnings in new conferences, new playoffs, and new head coaches, it seems like ESPN could have done better.
Either you love it or you hate it, but 'Get By' by Jelly Roll will be the anthem this season for college football, so get ready to hear it every day.
