Pat McAfee is officially back at the College Gameday desk on ESPN.

The long-awaited announcement comes just a month before the start of college football season and fans have some mixed feelings about it. McAfee joined the ESPN show in 2019 as a guest and then joined as a full-time TV personality in 2022.

McAfee brought a new look to College Gameday with his big personality and antics on the show from taking off his shirt and flexing his 37-year-old muscle to jumping in a river before a Baylor football game fully dressed.

Some fans are excited to see what he could do for his second full season at the desk while other fans are already making plans to tune into Fox Big Noon Kickoff to avoid the craziness.

So let's take a look at X (Formally known as Twitter) and see how fans are reacting to the news of McAfee returning.

The crew is set to be a legendary one this season with McAfee staying and the addition of Nick Saban in his first season retired as the Alabama head coach.

Some fans are tuning in simply to watch Pat McAfee at the desk and college football is getting even more attention even though that didn't seem possible.

Some people can only handle small bits of McAfee so they should be prepared to switch channels because he is back.

Some fans feel that McAfee brought energy and a different feel to the show that has been lacking for a long time. McAfee definitely does some pretty unpredictable things at the desk and some fans just can't get enough of it.

Some fans are choosing to hop over to Fox instead of staying on ESPN for another season with McAfee on the show.

The reactions seem truly split down the middle and it is understandable. Pat McAfee is not for everyone and he probably even knows that, but he will continue to be himself and you can choose to tune in or not.
