Big 12 football power rankings after spring portal closes: Did Wildcats get better?

The spring transfer portal window is officially closed and the Wildcats made a splash with one big recruit.

West Virginia started the season a little rough, but they pulled it together well in conference play finishing with a 9-4 record and in fourth place in the Big 12.

The Mountaineers were fairly quiet in the spring window bringing in just one player from the portal and losing four. However, they are returning a lot of players from their squad just a year ago.

So with more experience under their belt, the Mountaineers could make a push for the top of the Big 12, but they could have helped themselves by adding a few more pieces.
