The Bearcats had to go into their first season in the Big 12 with a new head coach and a new roster after being the first Group of Five team to make it to the College Football Playoff. The Bearcats were on the bottom of the Big 12 with a 3-9 overall record, only winning one game in the Big 12.

After losing guys to the NFL Draft including their starting quarterback for the second straight year, the Bearcats have other positions to fill losing five guys in the spring window alone.

Now second-year head coach Scott Satterfield will have more experience heading into the 2024 season, but with the competition joining the conference and the teams near the top still near the top, it doesn't look like the Bearcats will improve much.
