On the bubble
- Texas
- Oklahoma
- Kansas State
- TCU
Currently, Texas is one of the "Last Four Byes" as a team on the bubble. They just might miss the play-in based on games they won early on and some of the upsets they had in Big 12 play. The Longhorns are currently 7-8 in the Big 12 with three games left in the regular season. Big wins that help strengthen the Longhorns' resume for the NCAA Tournament are Baylor, Oklahoma when they were ranked, and Kansas State, another team on the bubble.
Oklahoma was a team that seemed to be a lock early on in Big 12 play. Their only loss going into conference play was against North Carolina. Then in their first seven Big 12 games, the Sooners went 3-4, but thier losses were to other ranked teams. Wins that help build Oklahoma's resume for the NCAA Tournament are Iowa State, Kansas State, and BYU. Right now Oklahoma is projected to be an eighth seed in the tournament.
TCU is also a team that is projected to be in the NCAA Tournament, but if they take one or two losses in their final three games, they could slip out easily. Right now they are also projected as an eighth seed in March Madness. Important Big 12 wins that will boost TCU's chances are Oklahoma, Houston, Baylor, and Kansas State.
Kansas State is the team on the bubble that has to fight the most right now. They are currently the "Next Four Out" in bracketology right now. The Wildcats have struggled on the road in Big 12 play and a four-game losing streak and three-game losing streak really hurt K-State and their March Madness hopes. However, they have begun to pull it together late in the season with back-to-back wins. There are games they have to win if they want to prove they can make it to March Madness. Big wins in the Big 12 for the Wildcats that help their resume are Kansas, Baylor, and BYU.
