Big 12 basketball Power Rankings: Kansas State moving up, Jayhawks fall

Two weeks into conference play and the Big 12 is out of control. The most competitive conference is proving why it is elite. Here are this week's Big 12 Power Rankings.

The Bearcats have now taken down two ranked opponents in the Big 12. In their first week in the conference, they took down No. 20 BYU at BYU and No. 19 TCU at home. Cincinnati has been in every game they have played in the conference. They lost to Texas by one point, No. 9 Baylor by three points, and No. 15 Oklahoma by four points.

The Bearcats are a team to watch out for in the Big 12, they have shown they can take down ranked teams and keep games close enough to have a chance to win at the end. This past week, they beat No. 19 TCU at home and then lost to No. 15 Oklahoma at home as well.

The Bearcats are middle of the pack in the Big 12 ranking seventh in both offense and defense. They play a physical game that teams struggle with. I know, they are still only 2-3 in the conference, but if they can continue to keep games close, they might find that they will be on the winning end more times than not.

Yes, Cincinnati went 1-1 on the week, but I think they are dangerous and that is why I have them ranked over other 2-3 teams in the conference.
