West Virginia went 1-1 this week. The Mountaineers took on a good Oklahoma team in Norman, falling 77-63. The Mountaineers are ranked last in the Big 12 in both offense and defense. They struggle to move the ball to get good shots and make stops when it matters most.

However, the Mountaineers did pull off an upset over a No. 3 Kansas team that has dominated the Big 12 for years. West Virginia handed the Jayhawks their second conference loss in two weeks. For an offense that struggles to sink shots, the Mountaineers were able to put up 91 points on a struggling Jayhawks defense at home in Morgantown.

West Virginia has a chance to move up in the rankings next week with some easier opponents on their schedule. Although let's face it, no team in this conference is an easy slam-dunk win. The Mountaineers have to travel to Orlando, which has turned into a very hostile environment and then to Oklahoma State.

With the big win over Kansas, West Virginia earned a spot over the Knights in these rankings, even though they have the worst overall record in the Big 12.
