Two weeks into conference play and the Big 12 is out of control. The most competitive conference is proving why it is elite. Here are this week's Big 12 Power Rankings.

As a new team in the conference, a lot of people, myself included, thought the Knights would struggle with such elite competition. The Knights so far have surprised those people, again including myself. The Knights had a statement win at home against No. 3 Kansas for their first Big 12 win but then fell to No. 20 BYU.

The Knights bounced back this week however, traveling to Texas to take down a struggling Longhorns team. That game even ended with some controversy with numerous UCF players doing the "Horns-Down" sign, mocking Texas's famous "Hook-em Horns" symbol. Head coach Rodney Terry saw this and began yelling at players, calling them "classless" and even throwing a few expletives in there.

The win at Texas was their first away win in the Big 12 conference. Fresh off that big comeback win, the Knights stayed on the road to take on No. 5 Houston. Both teams have elite defenses, Houston ranked No. 1 and UCF ranked No. 3 in the Big 12. Houston came out to play and held UCF to just 15.9 percent shooting, the lowest percentage in Big 12 basketball history.

So, congratulations UCF on beating Texas, but when you come out and only score 14 points in the first half against Houston, you won't be ranked very high on these rankings.
