Last Week: 8

I am still having a tough time figuring out if BYU is a good team or not. They are 3-4 in the conference and somehow manage to stay in the rankings every week, but when they match up against a quality opponent, they can't come out with the win. The Cougars have the second-best offense and the fourth-best defense in the Big 12.

So where is the disconnect for BYU? Why are they not able to win the big games when they have the better offense and defense the majority of the time? I honestly can't answer that question. I have watched the Cougars play and they seem like a team that could make a run in the NCAA Tournament. They have the players and a good head coach to be a serious threat.

So since I am still on the fence with BYU I am going to put them in the middle of the pack in the Big 12 right at No. 7. They moved up one spot for handing Texas well, but until I see consistency, they might just remain here in the middle going forward.
