big 12 power rankings. 14-6, 3-4 Big 12. 467. . 11. . . . .

Last Week: 11

A lot of people might argue with me saying that I have Texas ranked too low, but with how up and down their season has gone, especially in Big 12 play, it is hard for me to rank them any higher. At times the Longhorns show glimpses of greatness, but at other times they show they might not even make it into the NCAA Tournament.

I will say yes, Texas beat No. 11 Oklahoma this past week, but Oklahoma has not lost two in a row and in my opinion, is not helping thier NCAA Tournament case. Texas is in the middle of the pack on both offense and defense. Their offense is ranked ninth and their defense is ranked eighth in the Big 12. With a game against a very tough and physical Houston team up next, I just can't see how Texas is going to be able to build momentum.

For the rest of conference play, the Longhorns have two teams that are under .500 in conference play and that is West Virginia and Oklahoma State. The Longhorns have to win those games, but they have two games against Houston a multitude of games against other ranked opponents. With the loss to a BYU team that was 2-4 in the conference, the Longhorns stay right at No. 11 in these rankings.
