Big 12 Basketball Power Rankings: Kansas State falls again, a familiar No. 1 ranking

Kansas State has lost four games straight while Houston had their winning streak snapped. Kansas is suddenly back at the top of the Big 12 standings. Time to see how the power rankings will shake out this week.

Now people might ask why I have Oklahoma State above West Virginia when the Cowboys are at the bottom of the standings. Well, yes the Cowboys have a worse conference record, but a better overall record than the Mountaineers. Also, looking at Oklahoma State's conference schedule, they have played teams that have been in the top half of the standings all season long.

Going forward, the Cowboys have an easier schedule with teams that they can match up better with, but as everyone knows, no team in the Big 12, not even Oklahoma State, is an easy game. With a win over Kansas State at home on Saturday, the Cowboys will head into two tough matchups away at Houston and Oklahoma.
